This converted original 1974 built "plaas skooltjie", situated on a working farm, is both spacious and very comfortable. The tranquil setting makes this the perfect place for a well deserved break-away. The lovely newly renovated self catering units, come fully furnished and boast a placid country feel. The guest units offer ample accommodation consisting of 3 Family Two Bedroom Units (sleeping 4 - 6 persons) and 3 One Bedroomed Units (sleeping 2 - 4 persons). Each unit has it's own covered "stoep" and "braai" facility. This is the perfect setting for your early morning coffee or your sundowner while overlooking the farmlands.

About de kalk
Situated 22km from Jacobsdal, 60km from Kimberley and 130km from Bloemfontein, this production farm is set on the Modder River. Our vast variety of produce consist of Pecan Nuts, Sunflower Seed, Sorghum and Onions to mention but a few. We also pride ourselves on our livestock, consisting of cattle and sheep. The farm offers a peaceful walking trail down to the Modder River.
The Bester Family, consisting of Willie and Roselee, together with their sons, Niekie and Etienne and their wives, Anelle and Mareli, have been farming in the Jacobsdal district for many years. In 2018 De Kalk was purchased and later the idea of creating a guest farm for additional accommodation for guests attending weddings at the beautiful Memory Fields Wedding Venue nearby, was decided on. In 2021 the "plaas skooltjie" underwent a total transformation, resulting in the birth of De Kalk guest accommodation.
